For contractors

Local crews install ClassLock. We train them and send them the schools.

ClassLock has no proprietary installer network. If you already fit electric strikes and access‑control readers for commercial clients, you can be certified in a day and quoting pilots in your territory the week after.

Who it is for

Door hardware, access control and low‑voltage contractors

What you already do

Commercial door hardware, electric strikes matched to Grade 1 levers and panic devices, PoE cabling, access‑control panels and readers. If that is your trade, ClassLock is a standard one‑door opening with a known parts list.

What is different

The policy is the bell schedule. You install and commission the door; ClassLock loads the rosters. There is no head‑end server to build and no badge database to maintain. Credentials are the school's existing ID cards.

What you need

A low‑voltage or electrical license as your state requires, liability insurance, references on at least two commercial access‑control jobs, and a crew that can pass a school background check.

Scope of work

One door, one parts list

ItemNotes
Fail‑secure electric strikeMatched to the existing lever or exit device; rim strike for outward‑swing doors with panic bars
Multi‑technology readerEncrypted 13.56 MHz smart card plus legacy proximity; keypad variant where specified
Door position switch and request‑to‑exitFree egress from inside, always; sensor reports open and propped states
One‑door controller, UL 294 listedPoE powered; decides locally if the network is down
Cat6 and PoE portOn the district's security VLAN; new run where the door has none
OptionsInterior lockdown button, door‑propped sounder, first‑responder key switch, vision‑lite security film

Installed cost ranges per door are published on the pricing page. You quote against your own labor rates.

How the money works

You bill the district. We bill the license.

Hardware and labor are your contract with the school, quoted after your site survey at your margins. ClassLock sells the per‑door annual license directly and does not take a cut of your installation. We supply the controller configuration, the fire marshal package and the commissioning checklist.

Leads

Schools that ask for a scoped quote on this site are referred to certified installers in their area. Pilot requests, which are ten doors in one wing, go to the nearest certified crew first.

Training and certification

  1. One day online: the door kit, strike selection, controller setup, the commissioning checklist and the AHJ package.
  2. Your first pilot is commissioned with a ClassLock engineer on the call.
  3. Certification is per company, renewed yearly, and listed on this site.

Be the crew the local schools call.

Tell us your territory and the access‑control brands you already install. We will send the training schedule and the parts list.
